Audi Q5 2.0 TDI A joins luxury SUVs

AUDI, the German luxury car manufacturer, has announced the launch of a new Audi Q5 2.0 TDI quattro at an attractive price, strengthening its range of segment leading luxury SUVs in India. The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q is priced at INR 3,513,000 (ex-showroom Maharashtra) and will be available in showrooms from October. "The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q is perfectly equipped to further strengthen our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment. As the Audi Q5 already has a broad fan base in India, this attractive price will now make this premium experience accessible to a wider customer base who aspire to own a luxury SUV endorsed by our ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ philosophy. The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q powered by a dynamic and efficient engine is also equipped with best in-class interior and infotainment features," said Mr.Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. The new Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q comes equipped with 17" alloy wheels, Xenon plus headlights including LED daytime running lights, leather / leatherette interiors with wood inlays, and a multifunctional 4-spoke leather steering wheel. Enhancing the driving experience are the Audi Media Interface with Concert Radio, a storage package, and the rear parking aid among other features. The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q with 125kW / 170 hp reaches a maximum torque of 350 Nm @ 1,750 rpm with the dynamic 7–speed automatic S tronic transmission with an average fuel efficiency of 12.80 km/l and will be available through the CKD route. "Audi India has experienced formidable growth, even surpassing annual sales of 3003 cars for 2010 in the first seven months of 2011. In July 2011, we sold 343 cars – a growth of 52 per cent over the same period last year. Our focus is on strengthening our portfolio through the introduction of products like the Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q which are extremely relevant for India and also the expansion of our dealer network. With the opportunity that India presents, we are confident of achieving our retail sales target of 5000 cars by the end of 2011," according to Mr.Perschke. The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, New Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5, the super sports cars Audi R8, Audi R8 Spyder available across the country in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West and Pune. Further developments include Coimbatore, Delhi West, Indore, Lucknow, Mumbai South and Surat.
