Launch of Continental GT

BENTLEY Motors in association with Exclusive Motors Pvt Ltd, the leaders in bringing the leading luxury cars to India unveiled the much awaited New Bentley Continental GT in India with a price tag of Rs. 1.9 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Continental GT 4-seat coupe builds on the success of its iconic predecessor, capturing that GT spirit but with even higher standards of design, engineering, luxury, craftsmanship, dynamic performance and everyday practicality.  Speaking at the launch, Mr Satya Bagla, Managing Director, Exclusive Motors Pvt Ltd said, "We are extremely delighted to launch the new Bentley Continental GT in India for our car connoisseurs. With an entirely hand-crafted interior, the car sets new standards in luxury and refinement. We at Exclusive Motors are highly committed in bringing the best of luxury to our patrons. We are hopeful that the new Bentley Continental GT will be really well received by car aficionados in the country. "  Mr Chris Buxton, Bentley Regional Director, (India, Middle East and Africa) said, "India is aggressively growing in the luxury automobile space. We understand the growing needs of the market and hence we bring the new Bentley Continental GT to India. We share a long and fruitful relationship with Exclusive Motors and India being a key market for Bentley we would see more key model launches in the coming two years."  "India is growing fast in the luxury automobile space. We hope to achieve a sales figure of 100 units here from our entire range by next year," Mr Buxton said. He added volumes were picking up in Europe and the US, even as China was emerging as one of the key market. India, while being a small market, was also expected to grow in volumes and cross 100 units in sales next year.  Mr Buxton said Bentley’s worldwide sales were at 10,014 units in 2007, but had declined since then, dampened further by the recession that hit economies in late 2008 and 2009.  The new Continental GT is even faster than its predecessor, with its power output raised to an immense 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque. In tandem with a new six-speed Quickshift transmission, gear change times are reduced by 50 percent; it will launch from standstill to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 197mph (318km/h).
