Hyundai's popular cars

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), South Korea is the second largest car manufacturer in India with its plant in Chennai. Among its popular cars are; EON, Santro, i10 and the i20, the A3 segment includes the Accent and the Verna, the A5 segment includes the Sonata Transform and the SUV segment includes the Santa Fe. All-new i20 Era and Sportz THE i20 Era comes in both petrol and diesel versions while the Sportz is available only in petrol. The i20 petrol variants are powered by the 1.2 kappa engine that also powers the i10, while the diesel i20 is powered by a fuel efficient 1.4 CRDI engine, a 1.4 petrol automatic version is also available on the i20.The i20 Era diesel offers a 6 speed manual transmission but only for the diesel model – a first for this segment. It also has a gear shift indicator which would help the driver as when to shift gears ultimately leading to better fuel economy. The cabin features an ambient blue glow along with an revamped silver centre fascia. A new AC system called as " Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC)system" which means in short climate control. The Sportz car variant is also powered by the 1.2 kappa, 79bhp, aluminum 4-cyl engine. It can generate a maximum power of 80 Bhp at 5200 rpm, and has a maximum torque of 11.4 at 4,000 kgm. An 1.4 automatic version is also available on the Sportz petroleum car. Its mileage for city is 11.5 KMPL and for highway 15.0 KMPL. The capacity of the fuel tank is 45 litres..

All new Verna Transform The car sports a totally new and refurbished looks. The front portion has been re-styled with a more aggressive grille with body coloured slits and the rear end of the car, now has an all-new bumper and a new set of tail lamps. It is available in two engine variants of 1.6 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel. The petrol unit makes 104PS @ 5500rpm, while the CRDI unit makes 110PS @ 4000rpm. The colour shades are crystal white, stone black, sleek silver, blushing red, deep ocean blue and champagne gold. The maximum power is 103.2 ps @ 5500 RPM and the maximum torque 14..9 kgm @ 3000 RPM.

All new Fluidic Verna THIS car is available in eight variants with different engine options namely – 1.4L petrol, 1.4L diesel, 1.6L petrol and 1.6L diesel and two SX models added with two optional variants. The 1.6L variants (both petrol & diesel) have manual transmission mode and auto transmission mode whereas 1.4L models will have only manual transmission mode. It is fitted with trendy side mirror integrated with turn lights, chrome plated door handles with big tail lamps blended with massive stop light The1.4L petrol engine (DOHC VTVT) incorporates 1396cc engine with 4 cylinder in-linean power distributed by this engine model is 107 PS at 6300rpm and provides torque of 13.8kgm at 5000rpm. With compression ratio of 10.5, new Hyundai Verna holds a kerb weight of 1030kg. Also, the car model is also fitted with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The 1.4 diesel engine model (CRDi), while encompassing same engine configuration of 1396cc with 4 cylinder in-line. The changes are mainly in power distribution which is low in this version i.e. 90 PS at 4000rpm as compared to the petrol and the engine produces a torque of 22.43kgm at 1750~2750 rpm. Santa Fe THE new SUV model has a six-speed automatic transmission and is powered by the same 2.2L CRDI engine as its other siblings. This automatic version has been introduced in two trims, 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. It is equipped the 2.2 L, 2199 cc and CRDI diesel engine. The safety features include 6 airbags, ABS (Anti lock Braking System), EBD, and brake assists and the colors include : vanilla white, sleek silver, steel blue and phantom black. It is capable of churning highest power of 197 PS at 3800 rpm and 420 NM of torque at 1800-2500 rpm. The vehicle has got 6 speed manual gearbox that is transaxle type. Global luxury Santa Fe THE SUV is available in two variants- 4×2 and 4×4 variant. Both variants come with ESP, cruise control and airbags and is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi powerplant and six speed manual transmissions, with an option of 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive.The engine puts out 197 bhp and comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. As per the company, this diesel vehicle has mileage of 14.66 km per litre. The SUV Santa has four colour options, including, phantom black, steel blue, sleek silver and vanilla white and comes with a. 2.2 litre CRDi diesel engine which produces 197 bhp and is equipped with a six speed manual transmission. ury supported by cutting-edge technology and an impressive torque of 42.9 kgm/1800~2500rpm. Available in six speed manual transmission, with an option of 2WD and 4WD and gives 14.66 kmpl (ARAI certified) and comes in phantom black, sleek silver, vanilla white and steel blue. Santa Fe Automatic THE SUV which has two variants, comes with a host of new features like push button start feature, smart Key for secure entry to the SUV and new supervision cluster in the instrument panel. The main features are: 2.2 litre CRDi diesel engine, with maximum power of 197 Bhp and 420 Nm of max torque, 6 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), ESP in 4WD variant, automatic climate control system. The engine is the 2199cc common rail diesel engine. For better torque and clear emission, the engine of it is Euro 5 ready and has 4 cylinders, 16 valves with DOHC. There are three variants in phantom black, sleek silver, vanilla white and steel blue colours.

Next Gen i10 HYUNDAI Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer introduced Next Gen i10 – the all new version of its premium compact i10. Sporting an innovative design and an array of contemporary features, the Next Gen i10 is sure to win many hearts and replicate the phenomenal success of the existing Hyundai i10. The car gives the choice of two petrol engines – 1.1 iRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 VTVT. While the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine delivers a maximum power of 69PS@5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.1 Kgm@4500 rpm, the1.2 litre Kappa2 VTVT engine delivers a maximum power of 80 PS@6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.4 Kgm@4000 rpm. The engines are BS IV compliant and designed to give low emission and class leading performance. With a more efficient engine, the new 1.1 iRDE2 Next Gen i10 has ARAI certified mileage of 19.81 km per litre of petrol while the 1.2 Kappa2 VTVT boasts of a mileage of 20.36 km per litre making i10 the most fuel efficient petrol car in compact segment and above.

EON THE EON is the cheapest car from the Korean car manufacturer in the petrol category. It is powered by 814cc engine which is packed in all 6 variants released and will manage to deliver maximum power of 56 bhp at 5,500 rpm. Safety features like power steering and power windows can be operated with the touch of a button. The hatchback comes powered with 814cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine which is capable of producing peak power of 56 bhp@5,500 rpm and 76 Nm of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine in all 6 variants is coupled to a five speed manual gearbox. The hatchback is quite fuel efficient and the engine is designed in such a way that it becomes most fuel efficient car in its segment. The car is available in dark grey, sleek silver, coral white, mushroom, Maharaja red and pristine blue.
