Yamaha India organises Annual Suppliers Conference

16 suppliers awarded for their exceptional service

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) organised the Annual Suppliers Conference 2017 at Greater Noida (Delhi-NCR) recently. The conference was attended by 500 members representing more than 200 suppliers from across India. The theme of this year’s conference was “Challenge the Innovation for Global Competitiveness” and “It’s all about the Customer”.
 
The objective for conducting the Annual Suppliers Conference was to share the last year’s result for sales and production and the current year’s sales and production plan. During the conference, Yamaha shared the direction for 2017, its purchase policy, the purchasing policy of Yamaha Motor Company (Japan) and activities organised and initiatives taken for sales and marketing in the previous year.
 
Among the senior management members who were present on the occasion on behalf of IYM included Mr Hiroaki Fujita, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group Cos. (YMI-G Cos.), Mr. Takashi Terabayashi, MD, IYM, Mr Yasuo Ishihara, MD, Yamaha Motor Research & Development India (YMRI), Mr T Yamaguchi, Deputy MD & Purchase Head, IYM, along with the Yamaha Motor Company purchase team – Mr Olivier Prevost, Deputy Chief General Manager and Mr Hiroshi Hagio, General Manger.
 
Speaking at the conference, Mr Hiroaki Fujita said, “Our target for this year is to achieve one million unit sales in domestic market and 2.2 lakh unit sales for exports market. In addition, we also need to reinforce the Indian parts export business in order to contribute to Yamaha business globally. While doing so, we must continue with our focus on the ‘Quality’ of our parts and products.”
 
Yamaha India shared its expectations with the suppliers for improvement in quality, delivery and development performances besides cost competitiveness to compete in the export market to increase profitability for both Yamaha and the suppliers. The company also emphasised that all the suppliers can draw up their investment plans based on the increasing volumes in future.
 
Also, sixteen suppliers were also awarded for their exceptional services in the areas of quality, delivery, development and cost, including the Appreciation Award for some of them for the extra-ordinary improvement / support provided to India Yamaha Motor in 2016.
