Zoomcar partners with CARS24 to elevate self-drive car quality and safety with tech-enabled inspections

CARS24 will conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections and install GPS devices on Zoomcar host vehicles to enhance safety, transparency, and user experience. The Delhi pilot aims to reduce mechanical issues and disruptions amid rising demand, with potential expansion to other cities.

Zoomcar Holdings, Inc., India’s largest peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace, has entered into a strategic partnership with CARS24, a leading used car platform, to enhance vehicle quality and safety standards in the self-drive car-sharing segment.

Through this collaboration, CARS24 will carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and install GPS tracking devices on newly onboarded host vehicles. This initiative aims to improve transparency, boost safety, and enhance the overall guest experience. The pilot phase will roll out in Delhi, with plans to expand to other cities based on its success.

With a high volume of monthly bookings and increasing demand for reliable self-drive experiences, this initiative is designed to proactively minimize mechanical issues, guest dissatisfaction, and operational disruptions.

“At Zoomcar, enhancing the guest experience is a constant priority,” said Anirudh Lamba, Head – Brand & Partnerships at Zoomcar. “This partnership allows us to introduce an added layer of safety, accountability, and transparency, ensuring every vehicle meets a higher standard before it goes live on our platform.”

CARS24’s certified professionals will perform comprehensive quality checks covering key mechanical, electrical, and safety systems including brakes, engine condition, lighting, tyre health, and overall roadworthiness. Vehicles that meet our standards will be marked as “verified” on the platform. For guests, this tag serves as an assurance of quality, and for new verified hosts, it unlocks greater earning potential.

With this partnership, Zoomcar will equip its vehicles with advanced GPS tracking devices. These devices will enable real-time tracking in the event of unauthorised use and allow for continuous monitoring of driver behavior, thereby promoting safer driving practices.

Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder and CMO at CARS24, said, “We’ve inspected over a million cars across India, and one thing is clear, trust in used vehicles is built on transparency and data. The self-drive rental space has grown rapidly, but quality standards haven’t kept pace.” He further added, “Through this partnership with Zoomcar, we are bringing the same inspection rigour that powers India’s used car ecosystem to a new category, giving hosts more control, and guests more confidence.”

This partnership is part of Zoomcar’s broader push to improve asset quality across its platform. With over 25,000 cars onboarded to date and a growing pool of new hosts, initiatives like these not only ensure better guest experiences but also safeguard host investments and enhance host loyalty.
