Mercedes-Benz India starts FY25-26 with record Q1 sales, Driven by top-end luxury and BEV demand

Strong Q1 growth for Mercedes-Benz India was driven by rising demand for top-end luxury and BEV models, reflecting a shift toward personalized, tech-forward mobility. The top-end segment grew 20%, with standout performers like the Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and AMG G 63. The newly launched AMG GT 63 PRO saw exceptional demand and is already sold out for the year.

Mercedes-Benz India began FY25-26 on a high note, recording its best-ever first-quarter sales with 4,238 units retailed between April and June 2025—a 10% year-on-year growth. The strong performance was fueled by rising demand for top-end luxury vehicles and a surge in battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales, reflecting a growing preference for personalized, high-tech mobility.

The brand’s top-end luxury segment—including the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, EQS range, and AMG performance models—grew 20% in Q1. Standout models included the Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and AMG G 63. The newly launched AMG GT 63 PRO was met with overwhelming demand and is already sold out for the rest of the year.

BEV sales saw an impressive 157% year-on-year growth in Q1, now contributing 8% to overall volumes. Key BEV models such as the EQS SUV, Mercedes-Maybach EQS, and the G 580 experienced record demand, with waiting periods stretching up to six months for select variants.

Mercedes-Benz India’s core luxury segment—which includes the C-Class, E-Class LWB, GLC, and GLE SUVs—continued to anchor its performance, contributing 60% to total sales and growing 10% in Q1. The E-Class LWB retained its position as India’s highest-selling luxury car, further propelled by the launch of the E450 performance variant.

Meanwhile, the entry luxury segment saw a slight dip in sales, impacted by pricing pressures in the lower end of the premium market. Despite these headwinds, the company delivered a record Q1, thanks to strong demand for top-end luxury and BEV models.

The company noted that the growth was achieved despite macroeconomic challenges such as forex fluctuations, price hikes, and a competitive pricing environment in the entry luxury space.
