The battle for dominance in India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler (e-2W) market has intensified once again. Just weeks after losing the No. 1 position in October 2025, TVS Motor Company has reclaimed the crown in the first half of November. According to the latest Vahan retail data, TVS sold 15,344 units of the iQube between November 1–15, outperforming Bajaj Auto, which retailed 13,717 Chetak scooters during the same period.
TVS Bounces Back After October Setback
Festive October 2025 marked a record month for India’s e-2W industry, with total sales hitting 144,315 units. During this period, Bajaj Auto dethroned TVS with 31,337 Chetak sales, while TVS delivered 29,586 iQubes, impacted by production constraints due to limited rare-earth magnet supplies. With supply chain issues now resolved, iQube production at the Hosur plant is operating smoothly again.
TVS is also pursuing a first-mover advantage in rural India, where demand for affordable, zero-emission mobility is rising. TVS CEO KN Radhakrishnan expressed optimism that GST reforms and improved connectivity will accelerate rural adoption of two-wheelers—particularly EVs.
TVS Expands EV Portfolio with the New Orbiter
Building on the success of the iQube, TVS has launched the Orbiter e-scooter at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), inclusive of PM E-Drive subsidies. With a 3.1 kWh battery, 158 km IDC range, and 68 km/h top speed, the Orbiter is competitively priced against the base iQube variant and designed for urban use. Sales have begun in Karnataka, with Maharashtra next in line.
First Half of November Market Share Rankings
Between November 1–15, the retail sales race stands as follows:
| Rank | OEM | Units Sold (Nov 1–15) | Market Share |
| 1 | TVS Motor – iQube | 15,344 | 25% |
| 2 | Bajaj Auto – Chetak | 13,717 | 22% |
| 3 | Ather Energy | 11,400 | ~18% |
| 4 | Hero Vida | 5,688 | 9% |
| 5 | Ola Electric | 4,749 | 8% |
Ather Energy Maintains Strong No. 3 Position
Ather continues its steady ascent, recording 11,400 units in the first fortnight of November—closing the gap with TVS and Bajaj. The brand has benefited from strong demand for the Rizta family scooter, which is significantly outselling its 450X and 450S models.
Hero Vida Surges Ahead of Ola Electric
The standout development of early November is Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand securing the No. 4 rank, overtaking Ola Electric.
- Hero Vida: 5,688 units (9% share)
- Ola Electric: 4,749 units (8% share)
Hero’s growth is powered by the popularity of the Vida VX2, with October 2025 (15,994 units) marking its highest-ever monthly sales and the fourth consecutive month of 10,000+ units.
Ola Electric Slips to No. 5
With 4,749 units sold in the November 1–15 period, Ola currently holds an 8% share. Year-to-date, Ola’s cumulative retail sales stand at 186,532 units, trailing TVS (258,375 units) and Bajaj (238,937 units) and only slightly ahead of Ather (174,392 units). To regain momentum, Ola will need a refreshed product and sales strategy.
