Mahindra University has announced a strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto Limited to establish a Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre on its campus—making it the first private university in Telangana to host this industry-leading skill development initiative. Supported by Bajaj Auto’s flagship CSR program, BEST, the centre aims to equip engineering students with industry-ready capabilities in two key domains: Advanced Manufacturing (Industry 4.0 & IIoT) and Firmware Development.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, and Mr. Sudhakar Gudipati, Vice President – CSR, Bajaj Auto Ltd., along with university faculty and Bajaj Auto representatives.
As part of the collaboration, Bajaj Auto will lead the development of the BEST Centre, including curriculum design created by expert engineers and aligned to evolving industry requirements. The company’s CSR division will also sponsor advanced equipment and infrastructure, underscoring its commitment to empowering young engineering talent and strengthening India’s future workforce.
Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, emphasised, “With the evolving demands of diverse industries, we aim to ensure that students gain practical exposure to the technologies shaping the future. To this end, we are deepening our engagement with industry partners to ensure that academic learning remains closely aligned with evolving industry requirements. Through the BEST Centre, we will not only enrich the academic experience but also contribute significantly to India’s advancement as a global technology leader and strengthen the nation’s skill ecosystem.”
The BEST Centre will also extend training to mobilised external engineering students in their final year, offering short-term internship-based skill programmes aligned with industry requirements.
“We are delighted to sign the first MoU in Telangana with Mahindra University to set up the Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre. This state-of-the-art Centre will focus on Industry 4.0 Smart Manufacturing and Firmware Development. The Integration of industry-oriented curriculum as part of the regular B. Tech course will ensure that when students graduate, they are industry-ready and able to secure jobs in core engineering industries,” said Mr Sudhakar Gudipati, Vice President, Bajaj Auto Ltd.
The BEST Programme, a flagship CSR initiative designed by Bajaj Auto, implemented in partnership with India’s top universities and engineering colleges, is set to revolutionise engineering education. It aims to bridge the widening gap between academic learning and emerging industry demands, enhancing the employability of engineering students across India. With a contemporary curriculum, cutting-edge laboratories, and hands-on modules aligned to real-world applications, the Programme promises to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry.
The BEST Centre at Mahindra University will be the first to be hosted at a private institution in Telangana, nurturing advanced skill development in core engineering domains.
