Jeep India has launched the updated 2026 Jeep Meridian in the Indian market, introducing a key functional upgrade to its three-row SUV. The latest model year update adds sliding second-row seats on select variants, enhancing cabin flexibility and third-row usability. Prices for the refreshed Meridian start at Rs 30.01 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV continues to compete with rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and MG Gloster, with the Volkswagen Tayron set to enter the segment soon.
The highlight of the 2026 update is the addition of sliding second-row seats on the Limited and Overland variants. The new setup allows longitudinal movement of up to 140 mm, enabling owners to prioritise either passenger legroom across the second and third rows or additional luggage space, depending on usage requirements.
The 40:60 split second row offers sliding travel of up to 310 mm for the smaller section and 290 mm for the larger section, along with a 33-degree forward tilt to improve access to the third row. The second-row seats now feature a 23-degree torso angle with an additional 12-degree recline, aimed at delivering better comfort while meeting safety regulations.
Design and cabin layout remain largely unchanged. The 2026 Meridian continues to feature Jeep’s signature styling elements, including the iconic seven-slot grille and LED lighting, maintaining a strong road presence. Inside, the SUV retains its premium ambience with soft-touch materials and a well-appointed interior.
Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, and leatherette upholstery. On the technology front, the Meridian offers a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Jeep’s Uconnect connected car platform supports over 30 connected features, including remote functions and real-time vehicle diagnostics.
Safety remains a strong focus, with the 2026 Jeep Meridian offering over 70 active and passive safety features. Select variants are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Mechanically, the SUV remains unchanged. Power comes from the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is available with Jeep’s Select-Terrain 4×4 system on applicable variants and delivers an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of up to 16.25 kmpl.
The updated 2026 Jeep Meridian with sliding second-row seats is now available across Jeep dealerships in India. While refreshed variants are priced from Rs 30.01 lakh, the overall Meridian range continues to start at Rs 23.33 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings currently open.
