Honda has partnered with T-Hub to launch the Honda Innovation Challenge 1.0, a startup co-development initiative focused on building mobility-driven solutions for Honda’s products and customer ecosystem in India. The programme marks Honda’s first startup-focused innovation initiative in the Indian market and is designed to enable direct collaboration between the automaker and emerging technology companies.
The initiative was officially unveiled at T-Hub’s Phase 2 campus in Hyderabad and comes shortly after the formation of Honda Digital Innovation India, a dedicated division established to develop digital services and next-generation mobility experiences tailored for Indian consumers. According to Honda, HDII will operate around three strategic pillars — experience, connection, and innovation.
Under the programme, four startups have been selected for a fully funded 60-day proof-of-concept (PoC) phase. Each participant will receive co-development support of up to Rs 10 lakh to test and validate their solutions using Honda vehicles, operational data, and real-world road conditions. The initiative will culminate in a Demo Day scheduled for July 31, 2026.
Honda Innovation Challenge 1.0 attracted more than 300 startup applications spanning multiple mobility and digital use cases. The company stated that startups were evaluated based on technological maturity, relevance to the Indian market, and their ability to deliver a viable proof of concept within the programme timeline. Following the evaluation process, 25 startups were shortlisted, with four ultimately selected for the final cohort.
The selected startups are XANE AI, Attento Technologies, AppTestify, and Sensight Technologies (AutoWiz).
Commenting on the initiative, Kunal Behl, Director at Honda Digital Innovation India and Vice President – Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, said, “The Honda Innovation Challenge is an opportunity to co-create real-world solutions that enhance customer experience. We are excited to engage with startups that bring fresh ideas, digital capabilities, and disruptive thinking to create impactful use cases for Honda.”
