Tesla has introduced the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India, expanding its Model Y lineup with enhanced styling, upgraded technology and a more refined cabin experience. The launch marks the arrival of a new premium variant of the Model Y, currently the world’s best-selling electric vehicle as of March 2026.
The new Model Y Premium features an all-black interior theme with a blacked-out headliner and upgraded trim elements, creating a more immersive and premium cabin environment. It also comes equipped with a larger 16-inch front-row touchscreen offering improved responsiveness and easier access to navigation, entertainment and vehicle controls. Customers can also opt for the new Zen Grey Interior, designed to deliver a minimalist and contemporary cabin aesthetic.
Offering up to 2,138 litres of storage space, the SUV accommodates up to five passengers with flexible cargo arrangements enabled by power-folding seats. Powered by ultra-responsive electric motors, the Model Y Premium accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and delivers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 500 km.
Tesla has priced the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive at ₹50.89 lakh in India, with deliveries scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The company also highlighted that both the Model Y Premium and the latest six-seater Model Y L have received top safety ratings from global safety organisations including NHTSA, IIHS, Euro NCAP, ANCAP and C-IASI, reinforcing Tesla’s focus on safety, efficiency and advanced EV technology.
