Kia India has introduced a Lifetime High Voltage (HV) Battery Warranty for the Carens Clavis EV, aimed at strengthening customer confidence in long-term electric vehicle ownership. Effective 1 August 2026, the new warranty offers 15 years of unlimited-kilometre coverage on the high-voltage battery for the first owner of new Carens Clavis EVs retailed from the effective date.
The company has also extended the benefit to eligible existing Carens Clavis EV owners. Customers who purchased their vehicles before 1 August 2026 can opt to extend their existing 8-year/1,60,000 km HV battery warranty to 15 years with unlimited kilometres, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
The high-voltage battery is one of the most important and expensive components of an electric vehicle. Concerns around long-term battery durability and potential replacement costs remain key considerations for customers looking to transition to EVs. Kia India’s extended warranty is designed to address these concerns by providing long-term coverage for the battery.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “At Kia, our focus has always been on making electric mobility more accessible, dependable and rewarding for our customers. The Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty for the Carens Clavis EV reflects our confidence in the quality and durability of our battery technology and strengthens the long-term value of owning a Kia EV. Extending this enhanced battery assurance to eligible existing Clavis EV customers reflects our commitment to being there for them throughout their ownership journey. By addressing one of the biggest considerations for EV buyers, we’re giving our customers the confidence to embrace electric mobility with complete peace of mind.”
For new customers, the warranty is intended to simplify long-term EV ownership by providing greater assurance as the vehicle ages. For eligible existing owners, the optional extension provides an opportunity to enhance the battery coverage associated with their vehicles.
The new warranty complements Kia India’s existing EV ownership initiatives, including its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme for the Carens Clavis EV. The programme allows customers to finance the vehicle and battery separately, helping reduce the upfront cost of EV ownership.
Kia India also offers access to its K-Charge EV charging ecosystem through the MyKia app and Kia India website. The platform brings together more than 20,300 charging points from 23 charge point operators, allowing customers to locate, navigate to and pay for charging through a unified platform and wallet.
The company has also established a growing EV-focused after-sales network, comprising 129+ Kia dealerships with high-capacity DC fast chargers and 275+ EV-ready workshops. These facilities form part of Kia India’s broader network of more than 900 customer touchpoints across 400 cities.
The Carens Clavis EV is Kia India’s first made-in-India electric vehicle. Based on the Carens platform, the electric MPV combines a spacious, family-oriented package with electric powertrain technology and Kia’s expanding EV ownership and after-sales ecosystem.
