Tata Cars has launched the all-new Tata Aeris, a compact sedan developed specifically for private customers. The new model aims to bring a more design-focused and feature-rich proposition to the compact sedan segment, combining everyday practicality with technology, comfort, safety and personalisation.
The Tata Aeris is available with petrol and iCNG powertrains, with both manual and AMT transmission options. Introductory prices start at ₹5.29 lakh for the petrol variant and ₹6.29 lakh for the iCNG variant (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Aeris is available across Tata Cars dealerships in India, with bookings now open. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from October 11.
Tata Aeris: Designed for Private Buyers
With the Aeris, Tata Cars is taking a distinct approach to the compact sedan segment by developing the model exclusively for personal and family use.
The company says private compact-sedan buyers account for nearly 65% of the segment, but have traditionally had to choose from products that also cater to fleet requirements. While fleet customers typically prioritise operating costs, durability and uptime, personal buyers also look for styling, features, comfort and technology.
The Aeris has therefore been designed around the requirements of individual customers and will not be offered in the fleet segment. Tata Cars will continue to address fleet requirements through its dedicated Xpres-T brand.
Tata Aeris: Design and Exterior Features
The Aeris adopts a contemporary sedan design with a wide and planted stance. Exterior highlights include signature LED headlamps and DRLs, a wide lower grille and diamond-cut aero alloy wheels.
The sedan also features a prominent deck lid, Infinity Connected LED tail lamps, a dual-tone black roof, Cosmo Grain textured wheel-arch cladding and chrome-line door handles.
Premium Cabin and Technology
Inside, the Aeris features a technology-focused cabin with AeroLux ventilated leatherette seats, an OpenView dashboard and dual-screen setup.
The equipment list includes a 26.03cm HD touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.7cm Digital Island Cluster.

Safety Features
The Tata Aeris has been developed around Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles Safety Dome concept and uses Ultra High Strength Steel for enhanced structural protection.
Standard safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD and CSC, Hill Hold Control and ISOFIX anchors.
The sedan also gets a range of driver-assistance and visibility features, including a first-in-segment Blind View Monitor, MultiView Digital Video Recorder and a 360-degree SVS HD camera offering multiple 2D and 3D views.
Additional features include automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a rear defogger and enhanced rear-impact protection.
The iCNG variants receive additional safety provisions, including leak detection, leak-resistant materials, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection.
Petrol and iCNG Powertrain Options
The Aeris offers customers a choice between petrol and CNG powertrains, with manual and automated manual transmission options.
The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox, providing customers with options based on their driving preferences.
The iCNG range combines Tata’s CNG technology with an AMT option, offering the convenience of automatic driving alongside CNG operation.
The Aeris iCNG also uses twin-cylinder CNG technology, designed to optimise packaging while retaining the sedan’s practical attributes.
