Rohit Thakur appointed as Group CHRO at Mahindra & Mahindra; Succeeds Ruzbeh Irani

Rohit Thakur has been appointed Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. He succeeds Ruzbeh Irani, President – Group Human Resources, who will retire on April 1, 2026.

Rohit Thakur has been appointed as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, overseeing the Automotive and Farm Equipment businesses, effective April 2, 2026. The appointment is part of the Mahindra Group’s structured leadership succession plan.

He will succeed Ruzbeh Irani, President – Group Human Resources, who will retire on April 1, 2026, after an illustrious career spanning over 19 years with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited and the wider Mahindra Group.

The leadership transition underscores Mahindra & Mahindra Limited’s continued focus on continuity, strong governance, and a long-term people strategy across its diversified businesses. In his new role, Rohit Thakur will join the company’s Senior Management Personnel and will be responsible for driving the Group’s human capital strategy, leadership development, and organisation-wide transformation initiatives aligned with future growth and sustainability objectives.
