JBM Electric Vehicles unveiled its all-electric city bus, the ECOLIFE e12, at Busworld 2025 in Brussels, marking a major step in expanding its footprint in the European market. The launch was led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the $3.3 billion JBM Group. The ECOLIFE e12 offers a range of up to 400 kilometers on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging.

Designed with a lightweight monocoque stainless steel body, the bus incorporates sustainable features like seats made from recycled materials and fabrics from recycled yarn. It is equipped with an Intelligent Transport System that meets EU standards, advanced telematics for continuous vehicle health monitoring, and a suite of safety technologies including JBM’s Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Forward Vehicle Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, pedestrian and cyclist collision alerts, blind spot detection, and a 360-degree camera system.

Alongside the launch, JBM Electric Vehicles announced the opening of its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, which will serve as the central hub for marketing, sales, aftersales, and partnerships across the EU.

JBM Electric Vehicles is currently executing contracts for 11,000 electric buses across global markets and operates what it claims to be the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, based in India, with an annual capacity of 20,000 units. Over the past five years, JBM’s electric buses have travelled more than 200 million electric kilometers, transporting over 1 billion passengers and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 1 billion kilograms.

At Busworld 2025, JBM also showcased its integrated EV ecosystem platform, JBM E-Verse, which includes fast charging infrastructure, lithium-ion batteries, and power systems designed for zero-downtime operations. The company has set a goal to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Nishant Arya highlighted the company’s vision to serve over 20 billion passengers and accumulate 3 billion electric kilometers within the next three years, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals focused on health, infrastructure innovation, sustainable cities, and climate action.

JBM’s electric vehicle portfolio includes city buses, intercity coaches, luxury coaches, and specialized vehicles for schools, staff transport, and airport tarmac operations.
