CARS24 has announced the acquisition of Vehicle Info, one of India’s widely used automotive utility applications, as part of its strategy to build the country’s first full-stack vehicle ownership platform.
While the automotive ecosystem has traditionally focused on vehicle buying and selling, the everyday experience of ownership involves managing several tasks over the years between purchase and resale. These include checking insurance validity, tracking traffic challans, monitoring FASTag balances, and ensuring compliance with vehicle-related documentation—often across multiple fragmented platforms.
Vehicle Info was developed to simplify this process by bringing several ownership-related services together in a single application.
Founded by Chirag Pipaliya, the platform was built around a key insight: the biggest challenge for most car owners is not purchasing or selling a vehicle, but managing everything that comes with owning it.
Chirag, who grew up in a small village near Bhavnagar in Gujarat and studied in a government school, built the product from Surat without access to venture capital or a large startup ecosystem. Operating under tight constraints, the focus was clear: the product had to deliver immediate, everyday utility for millions of users, or it would not survive.
That philosophy shaped Vehicle Info into one of the top auto applications in India, solving practical ownership needs at scale. The platform’s relevance is reflected in how users download it not for a one-time task, but to keep it as a permanent companion for their vehicle lifecycle.
With this acquisition, Cars24 will integrate Vehicle Info’s capabilities into its broader vision of building a complete vehicle ownership ecosystem, extending beyond transactions to cover the full lifecycle of owning and managing a vehicle.
Vehicle Info will continue to operate as a standalone app with its existing team while working closely with Cars24 to expand the shared vision of simplifying vehicle ownership for millions of users.
The integration reflects a broader ambition to build solutions designed in India that address real-world challenges at scale, while creating products that are relevant not only for the domestic market but globally as well.
Together, CARS24 and Vehicle Info aim to simplify and transform the way vehicle owners manage their cars in their day-to-day lives.
The move brings the company a step closer to its vision of “Better Drives, Better Lives.”
