Suzuki Motorcycle India begins production of first Electric Scooter, e-ACCESS

Suzuki's e-ACCESS, unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marks the brand’s entry into India’s electric scooter market. Designed for sustainable urban mobility, it features a durable LFP battery, regenerative braking, a maintenance-free belt drive, and multiple riding modes via the SDMS-e system.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has officially started production of its first electric two-wheeler—the Suzuki e-ACCESS—at its manufacturing facility in Gurgaon, Haryana.

First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the e-ACCESS marks Suzuki’s entry into India’s electric scooter market. Designed as a sustainable urban mobility solution, the e-ACCESS is powered by Suzuki’s proprietary e-Technology and features a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, known for its thermal stability and long service life.

Key highlights include Regenerative Braking, a maintenance-free belt drive system, and the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e), offering multiple riding modes—Eco, Ride A, Ride B, and Reverse Mode—to enhance rider convenience and efficiency.

According to a media release from the company, the battery and key components of the e-ACCESS undergo extensive testing to ensure safety and reliability. These include submersion, extreme temperature exposure, drop, vibration, motor bench, puncture, and crush tests.

The e-ACCESS is engineered to deliver consistent performance across a range of speeds—even when battery levels are low—ensuring smooth ride quality and control in diverse urban conditions.

To support the transition to electric mobility, Suzuki Motorcycle India is actively preparing its dealership network to be EV-ready. This includes training service personnel and setting up dedicated infrastructure for the maintenance and servicing of electric two-wheelers.
