GreenLine Mobility Solutions, the green logistics arm of the Essar Group, has partnered with Shriram Finance Ltd to launch a new fleet of LNG-powered trucks in India. The latest fleet was officially flagged off in Chakan, Pune, marking another step toward sustainable freight transportation.

Shriram Finance, one of India’s largest non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), is supporting the deployment as part of its commitment to green mobility initiatives.

GreenLine is India’s only logistics operator focused exclusively on LNG and electric-powered heavy commercial vehicles. With a growing fleet of over 650 LNG trucks, the company currently serves leading enterprises across key sectors including FMCG, e-commerce, metals and mining, cement, oil and gas, and chemicals.

Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions, emphasized the significance of the latest fleet rollout: “This fleet expansion, supported by Shriram Finance, marks a pivotal step in our mission to transform India’s logistics landscape with sustainable, high-performance solutions.”

India’s transportation sector currently accounts for nearly 15% of the country’s total carbon emissions. Addressing this, GreenLine Mobility is accelerating the adoption of cleaner alternatives.

Sharvari Prabhu, CFO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships: “As we scale our LNG fleet, financial collaboration becomes crucial. Shriram Finance’s support enables us to provide practical, eco-friendly alternatives to conventional trucking while contributing to India’s broader decarbonisation objectives.”

GreenLine aims to deploy over 10,000 LNG and electric trucks across the country, backed by a nationwide network of 100 LNG refuelling stations, EV charging points, and battery swapping facilities. This comprehensive initiative is projected to reduce carbon emissions by up to 1 million tonnes annually.
