Isa Logistics has introduced a strategic electric vehicle integration program to support India’s fast-growing shift toward sustainable commercial transportation. This move aligns with projections that India’s commercial EV market will grow at a compound annual rate of over 40% through 2030, driven by favourable policy changes and advancements in battery technology.
Recent revisions to the Goods and Services Tax have lowered duties on electric vehicles and related components, while the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) scheme continues to incentivize fleet electrification. Additionally, India’s public charging infrastructure has expanded to more than 2,500 stations nationwide, alleviating earlier concerns around operational feasibility for commercial fleets.
Isa Logistics currently manages a fleet of 126 company-owned trailers along with over 50 units operated through aggregator partnerships. Their transport division leverages real-time tracking systems to efficiently coordinate cargo movement across multiple routes.
“Integrating EVs into our fleet is not only a step towards environmental responsibility but also a strategic business decision that ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and a sustainable future for our operations,” said Suresh Suvarna K, Director of Transport at Isa Logistics.
The company cited operational cost reductions as a key factor in the decision. Electric vehicles can reduce fuel expenditure by up to 60 percent compared to diesel alternatives, with lower maintenance requirements due to simplified mechanical systems and regenerative braking technology. The shift is also expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.5 kilograms per kilometer traveled.
Isa Logistics plans a phased deployment beginning with electric light-duty vans and last-mile delivery vehicles. The company stated it would coordinate the rollout with charging infrastructure availability and route optimization studies.
Suvarna indicated that future plans include exploring artificial intelligence-driven route planning and partnerships with charging network operators to support expanded electric fleet operations.
