Bajaj Auto relaunches Bajaj Dominar 400 with 350cc engine, cuts price by ₹37,000

The update allows the motorcycle to fall under the 18% GST bracket while retaining its touring performance and features. The Dominar 400 is now priced at ₹2,03,214 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Bajaj Auto has relaunched the Dominar 400 touring motorcycle with a revised 350cc engine, replacing the earlier higher-displacement unit. The move has enabled the company to reduce the motorcycle’s price by nearly ₹37,000, bringing the new ex-showroom price to ₹2,03,214 in Delhi.

The revised engine capacity allows the motorcycle to fall under the 18% GST bracket, compared to the 28% tax applicable to motorcycles with engines above 350cc. This regulatory shift has allowed Bajaj Auto to pass on direct cost benefits to customers while keeping the motorcycle’s touring-focused character intact.

According to Bajaj Auto, the updated Dominar retains its performance capabilities, feature set, and long-distance touring strengths, ensuring that the core identity of the model remains unchanged despite the engine resizing.

Sarang Kanade, President of Bajaj Auto’s Motorcycle Business Unit, stated that the relaunch aligns with the company’s strategy to make touring motorcycles more accessible to Indian riders without compromising on capability and comfort.

Positioned as an all-round touring motorcycle, the Dominar 400 continues to target riders looking for a versatile machine capable of handling daily commuting as well as long-distance highway journeys.

Bajaj Auto, which reported global sales of over 4.6 million units in FY 2024-25, continues to position the Dominar lineup as a key pillar of its touring motorcycle portfolio in the Indian market.
