Cityflo has rolled out a comprehensive AI-powered driver safety system across its fleet operating in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. The new system integrates Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) to boost road safety, ensure disciplined fleet operations, and promote greater transparency.
ADAS supports drivers with real-time on-road alerts, while DMS keeps a close watch on in-cabin driving behavior. Together, these technologies aim to minimize risks, enhance accountability, and create a consistent standard of driver performance across the fleet.
“As we expand and add more buses, robust systems become essential for efficient operations,” said Rushabh Shah, Chief Business Officer at Cityflo. “We believe operational excellence starts with complete visibility—both inside and outside the vehicle. This rollout is about embedding safety and performance into our culture, not merely responding to incidents but proactively preventing them.”
The system was developed in collaboration with Cautio, a safety intelligence startup, and has already been integrated into a significant portion of Cityflo’s buses and premium LUXE cabs. Full deployment is expected within a month.
This initiative arrives at a critical moment. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India accounts for 11% of global road deaths despite having only 1% of the world’s vehicles. With over 90% of accidents attributed to human error—such as fatigue, distraction, or misjudgment—Cityflo’s AI-based approach directly addresses these root causes to improve safety outcomes.
With a fleet of over 400 buses and a team of 600 trained drivers, Cityflo covers more than 10 million kilometers annually, delivering 6.6 million rides. This AI deployment is part of a broader mission to establish structured operating standards in a largely informal sector. By prioritizing long-term, system-level improvements, Cityflo continues to focus on delivering safer, more reliable, and high-performance transportation services.
