Ducati launches Panigale V4 R in India at ₹84.99 Lakh

Ducati has launched the Panigale V4 R superbike in India at ₹84.99 lakh, bringing MotoGP and WorldSBK-derived technology to the road.

Ducati has launched the Panigale V4 R superbike in India, bringing race-derived technology from the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) to Indian roads. Priced at ₹84.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Panigale V4 R is now open for bookings across Ducati dealerships nationwide.

The first unit was delivered by Ducati Chennai on January 1, 2026, marking the arrival of what the brand describes as its most exclusive production sports motorcycle in the Indian market.

Racing Pedigree and Exclusivity

The Panigale V4 R continues a legacy that began with the iconic Ducati 996R in 2001. These ‘R’ models form the technical backbone of Ducati’s World Championship racing machines. Each Panigale V4 R is produced as part of a numbered series, with the model designation and individual serial number engraved on the steering plate, underlining its exclusivity.

Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said the Panigale V4 R brings MotoGP and WorldSBK-derived technology directly to Indian customers, with performance focused primarily on track use.

Engine and Performance

At the heart of the Panigale V4 R is a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine, producing 218 hp at 15,500 rpm and revving up to 16,500 rpm in sixth gear. The engine features lighter pistons and a crankshaft with increased inertia—technologies derived from Ducati’s MotoGP program.

With an optional racing exhaust, output rises to 235 hp and further increases to 239 hp when paired with Ducati Corse Performance Oil. In full racing configuration, the superbike is capable of exceeding 330 km/h.

Aerodynamics and Chassis

The Panigale V4 R is the first production motorcycle to feature Corner Sidepods, a MotoGP-derived innovation that creates a ground effect at high lean angles to improve tyre grip. Updated wings generate 25% more downforce than the previous model at 270 km/h.

The chassis employs Ducati’s Front Frame design and a Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm, optimised for modern slick tyres to enhance cornering precision and traction.

Suspension, Braking and Hardware

The motorcycle weighs 186.5 kg (without fuel) and comes equipped with premium Öhlins suspension, including an NPX 25-30 fork and a TTX36 rear shock absorber. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Hypure monobloc calipers, while forged aluminium wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tyres.

The Panigale V4 R is offered in Ducati Red, featuring a 17-litre aluminium fuel tank and a lightweight lithium battery.

Electronics and Rider Aids

The bike is equipped with the Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG), which places neutral below first gear to prevent accidental engagement during aggressive braking. Ducati’s Vehicle Observer algorithm manages engine braking and other dynamic systems.

A new Race Brake Control system enables greater rear brake usage during corner entry, enhancing stability on track. All rider information is displayed on a 6.9-inch TFT dashboard, which includes a Grip Meter that estimates available traction in real time.

The comprehensive electronics suite includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Slide Control, Wheelie Control, Power Launch, Quick Shift 2.0, and Engine Brake Control, all governed by a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

Ducati’s Racing Legacy

Ducati competes with official factory teams in both MotoGP and WorldSBK, and achieved the rare distinction of becoming World Champion in both series in 2023—a pedigree that is deeply embedded in the Panigale V4 R.

With its launch in India, the Panigale V4 R stands as Ducati’s most track-focused and technologically advanced motorcycle available in the country, aimed squarely at performance purists and racing enthusiasts.
