Hyundai is gearing up to launch the new Venue on November 4, 2025, and fresh details have emerged about its engine options, gearbox choices, and variant lineup. The updated Venue promises major upgrades in performance, technology, and features, along with the much-awaited diesel-automatic powertrain.
Powertrain and Variants
The 2025 Hyundai Venue will be offered in eight variants – HX2, HX4, HX5, HX6, HX6T, HX7, HX8, and HX10 – across both petrol and diesel engine options.
A key highlight is the introduction of the diesel-automatic combination, a feature that was missing in the previous model. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, which previously came only with a manual transmission, will now be available with an automatic gearbox in select trims. This move allows Hyundai to directly compete with rivals like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3X0, all of which offer diesel-automatic or diesel-AMT setups.
The diesel-automatic option will be available on the HX5 and HX10 variants, while lower trims such as the HX2, HX5, and HX7 will continue with the 6-speed manual gearbox. The diesel engine is expected to produce around 114hp and 250Nm, featuring Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) technology.
In addition to the diesel, the Venue will continue with two petrol options:
- 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol
Transmission choices include manual, torque converter automatic, and 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) gearboxes.
Features and Equipment
The cabin of the 2025 Venue sees a major tech and comfort upgrade. It now features dual 12.3-inch displays – one serving as a digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment system.
Other key features include:
- Rear window sunshades
- Ventilated front seats
- Moon white ambient lighting
- 8-speaker Bose premium sound system
- Automatic climate control
- Wireless phone charging
- 4-way powered driver’s seat
- Keyless entry with push-button start
Safety and ADAS Tech
Safety has been significantly enhanced as well. The new Venue will come with six airbags as standard, along with ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Additional safety features include:
- Front parking sensors
- 360-degree camera
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
The 2025 Venue also introduces Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which offer adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking for the first time on this model.
Bookings and Deliveries
Bookings for the new Hyundai Venue are currently open, with dealers indicating that deliveries will begin by mid-November 2025. Expect the pricing to be slightly higher than the outgoing version, given the host of new features, technology upgrades, and powertrain enhancements.
