redBus, India’s largest online bus ticketing platform, has launched NOVA, a dedicated business-to-business (B2B) marketplace aimed at modernising the country’s intercity bus ecosystem. Announced on January 6, 2025, the platform connects over 6,000 bus operators with verified vendors across India.
NOVA provides bus owners with a single, integrated platform to procure a wide range of products and services, spanning safety equipment, fleet management solutions, and operational efficiency tools. The marketplace offers discounts ranging from 20% to 40% on select products, including CCTV cameras, alcohol testing devices, driver monitoring systems, and fuel additives that claim fuel savings of up to 5%.
The platform is seamlessly integrated with redPro, redBus’s cloud-based analytics solution, enabling operators to purchase products while simultaneously accessing dashboards and performance insights. This integration is designed to support data-driven decision-making across fleet operations and passenger services.
According to Prakash Sangam, CEO of redBus, NOVA addresses long-standing challenges faced by bus operators, including fragmented procurement processes, limited product discoverability, and concerns around vendor reliability. He added that the platform also enables smaller businesses and startups to reach a pan-India network of intercity bus operators.
During its pilot phase, more than 100 operators placed at least one order through NOVA. The marketplace also incorporates an integrated settlement framework to help resolve issues such as inconsistent product quality and delayed vendor payments.
India’s intercity bus market is estimated at ₹47,443 crore, supported by the world’s second-largest road network. NOVA marks a strategic expansion of redBus’s B2B portfolio, extending its capabilities beyond core ticketing services.
Founded in 2006, redBus operates across multiple international markets including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Peru, Colombia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The company has sold over 466 million bus tickets globally, serves approximately 52 million customers, and is part of the MakeMyTrip Group, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker MMYT.
