SMK Helmets launches Nova Series in India with Nova Solid and Nova Track Variants

The helmets come with ECE 22.06, DOT and ISI certifications, meeting global and Indian safety standards. Equipped with Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) shells, multi-density EPS liners and Pinlock-ready visors, the Nova range blends protection with modern styling.

SMK Helmets has expanded its domestic portfolio with the launch of the Nova series in India, introducing two variants — Nova Solid and Nova Track — aimed at performance-oriented riders. The new models are now available across authorised retail outlets and motorcycle accessory stores nationwide.

Previously offered in international markets, the Nova series features Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) outer shells paired with multi-density EPS liners for enhanced impact absorption. Both variants comply with ECE 22.06, DOT and ISI certifications, aligning with globally recognised and Indian safety standards.

SMK Helmets operates under STUDDS Accessories Ltd., which, according to a CARE Report cited by the company, was the world’s largest two-wheeler helmet manufacturer by volume in Calendar Year 2024. The parent company has a combined annual manufacturing capacity of 9.04 million units.

Safety, Comfort and Design Features

The Nova series is equipped with an optically corrected, scratch-resistant visor fitted with a Pinlock 30 anti-fog insert as standard. A one-touch quick-release system enables easy visor removal for cleaning and maintenance. The ventilation setup comprises chin vents, top air intakes and rear exhaust outlets designed to optimise airflow during urban and highway rides.

On the comfort front, the helmets feature a breathable, hypoallergenic liner that is removable and washable. The interior is designed to accommodate eyeglass wearers and includes wind protectors and nose deflectors for improved riding comfort. The Nova range is offered in two shell sizes and six standard sizes ranging from XS to XXL.

Variant Highlights and Pricing

The Nova Track variant carries track-inspired graphic decals and is available in seven colour options, including chrome-accented choices, across gloss and matte finishes. Meanwhile, the Nova Solid adopts a cleaner, minimalist design with five single-tone colour options. A standout pink variant features an iridescent finish that shifts between pink and violet hues under varying light conditions.

Commenting on the launch, Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, Managing Director of STUDDS Accessories Ltd., stated that the Nova series reflects growing consumer awareness around certified safety standards combined with contemporary styling. He added that the range is engineered to deliver internationally benchmarked protection alongside aerodynamic stability suited for both city commutes and highway riding.

The Nova Solid is priced from ₹4,000, while the Nova Track starts at ₹4,300. Both variants are available through the company’s authorised distribution network.

With nearly five decades of operations, STUDDS Accessories Ltd. reported sales of approximately 7.10 million helmets in FY2024. Its Studds and SMK brands are currently marketed in over 70 countries, with the SMK brand introduced globally in 2016.
