India Yamaha Motor has expanded its electric mobility portfolio with the launch of the Aerox E, a new high-performance electric scooter developed in India. Priced at ₹2.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Aerox E will be available through Yamaha’s Blue Square dealerships in select cities.
The Aerox E is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that delivers 9.4 kW of peak power and 48 Nm of torque, enabling a claimed top speed of 95.5 km/h. The scooter is equipped with dual removable 1.5 kWh (30Ah) battery packs, offering a certified riding range of 117 km on a full charge. Each battery requires approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes to recharge.
Designed for a versatile riding experience, the Aerox E offers Eco, Standard, and Power riding modes, along with a reverse mode for easier maneuvering and a boost function for quick acceleration when needed. Yamaha is offering a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty on the battery packs.
The scooter comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including disc brakes at both ends, single-channel ABS, and a traction control system. Retaining the sporty maxi-scooter styling of the Aerox family, the electric model combines familiar design elements with modern EV technology.
The Aerox E features a 5-inch TFT colour display with turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect mobile application. The app enables riders to access maintenance reminders, view the scooter’s last parked location, and monitor vehicle diagnostics. Additional convenience features include a smart key system and an external charging port, enhancing everyday usability.
