
ACE – Action Construction Equipment Limited, the world’s largest pick-and-carry crane manufacturer and a leading player in India’s material handling and construction equipment sector, has entered into a strategic joint venture with Japan-based Kato Works Co., Ltd.
Kato Works, a globally recognised name in the construction equipment industry, brings decades of expertise in the design, development, and manufacturing of mobile cranes, excavators, and allied machinery.
Through this partnership, the two companies aim to manufacture high-capacity and advanced cranes in India, combining ACE’s strong domestic presence with Kato’s global technology and engineering capabilities. The collaboration is expected to strengthen India’s position as a manufacturing hub while enhancing access to high-end lifting solutions in the market.
The joint venture ‘ACE KATO Pvt. Ltd.’ will bring together the global technology, design and engineering expertise of Kato Works Co., Ltd. with Action Construction Equipment Limited’s strong manufacturing base, extensive market reach and operational capabilities in India. The collaboration aims to enhance product competitiveness by improving performance and cost efficiency, while enabling both companies to address emerging growth opportunities across domestic and international markets.
The initiative aligns with India’s broader manufacturing ambitions under Make in India, while contributing to the development of a globally competitive construction equipment industry that supports the country’s long-term infrastructure and economic growth.
The joint venture will involve a total investment of approx. ₹200 crore, with an equal 50:50 partnership. The manufacturing facility will be established in Haryana, with operations expected to commence in 2026.
Under this partnership, the joint venture will focus on the manufacturing of high capacity & heavy cranes, including Truck cranes, Crawler cranes and Rough Terrain cranes, serving the Indian market as well as international markets.

Beyond meeting domestic demand, the joint venture aims to explore export opportunities across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and other international markets.
