Bijliride partners with ThunderPlus to boost EV Rentals and Charging in Hyderabad

Bijliride and ThunderPlus are partnering to expand EV rental and charging infrastructure in Hyderabad, setting up integrated hubs for renting, returning, charging, swapping batteries, and quick repairs, aiming to simplify EV usage and promote sustainable urban mobility.

Bijliride, India’s leading SaaS-based electric two-wheeler rental platform, has partnered with ThunderPlus, a rapidly growing EV infrastructure network, to expand its presence and enhance customer convenience in Hyderabad. The partnership supports Bijliride’s vision of accelerating EV adoption by integrating technology, infrastructure, and accessibility at scale.

Together, Bijliride and ThunderPlus will set up integrated pickup and drop-off points across the city, allowing customers to rent or return electric two-wheelers, swap or charge batteries, and access quick repair services. The initiative aims to simplify the EV rental experience and strengthen Hyderabad’s sustainable urban mobility ecosystem.

Hyderabad, which has been Bijliride’s launchpad since inception, continues to be at the forefront of electric mobility adoption in India. The city’s dynamic mix of professionals, students, and gig-economy workers makes it the ideal testbed for Bijliride’s hub-and-spoke (STAR) expansion model. “Our objective is very clear: to make sustainable mobility more accessible and convenient for everyone in Hyderabad. With ThunderPlus’s strong infrastructure network and Bijliride’s growing EV rental platform, this collaboration allows us to create seamless pickup and drop-off points that go beyond vehicle rentals, offering battery swapping, charging, and quick service support. It’s a joint step towards building a reliable and connected ecosystem for urban commuting,” said Mr. Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co-Founder, Bijliride.

“ThunderPlus is thrilled to join hands with BijliRide to make EV rentals and charging effortlessly accessible, starting with Hyderabad and extending across our network of 250+ ThunderPlus hubs. Through this collaboration, each hub evolves into a multi-activity EV center—offering fast charging, battery swapping, and quick service support under one roof. With innovations like our ‘Thunder Tej’ 12 kW LEVDC fast chargers and the ‘Chai Pe Charge’ initiative, we’re ensuring riders can recharge up to 80% in just 10 minutes while enjoying a short break. At ThunderPlus, we believe in collaboration over competition and are committed to building an ecosystem that truly eliminates range and charge anxiety for every EV commuter,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus.

Looking ahead, Bijliride plans to expand this partnership model to other Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, replicating the Hyderabad success blueprint as it scales operations nationwide. The company’s ongoing STAR model, starting with its flagship 24/7 operational hub in Madhapur, Hyderabad, will continue to evolve into a city-wide grid for sustainable commuting.
