CEAT partners with CleanMax to add 59 MW Hybrid Wind-Solar Power across plants

The initiative will help reduce nearly 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually and take CEAT’s clean energy usage to 60%, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

CEAT, the Mumbai-based tyre manufacturing leader, has partnered with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Ltd to power its manufacturing facilities with renewable energy. Announced on January 14, 2026, the collaboration will develop hybrid wind-solar projects totaling around 59 MW at two strategic locations: Halol in Gujarat and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, under a group captive model.

The hybrid design, combining wind and solar generation, ensures consistent energy output and higher plant load factors, enhancing grid stability for CEAT’s energy-intensive operations. Once operational, the projects are expected to generate approximately 13.58 crore units of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 100,000 tonnes per year—equivalent to planting roughly 4.5 million trees. Post-implementation, CEAT’s clean energy content is projected to reach 60%.

Roopesh R., Senior Vice President of Procurement at CEAT, highlighted that the partnership strengthens the company’s renewable energy footprint across Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, reinforcing sustainability as a core aspect of long-term business strategy. CEAT has already implemented initiatives in green sourcing, sustainable transportation, biodegradable packaging, and low-emission manufacturing, with this hybrid wind-solar integration marking the next step in its sustainability journey.

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax, said the collaboration demonstrates how structured partnerships can accelerate renewable energy adoption and build sustainable energy futures for large-scale manufacturing operations. The initiative is expected to provide energy security, operational efficiency, and significant reductions in carbon emissions, supporting CEAT’s roadmap toward net-zero operations.
