Global travel-tech platform FlixBus has partnered with Green Drive Mobility to introduce electric intercity bus services between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, marking a significant step toward sustainable long-distance mobility in India.
As part of the first phase of the collaboration, four electric buses will operate on the Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam corridor, one of Andhra Pradesh’s busiest intercity travel routes. The companies said the initiative combines FlixBus’ digital ticketing and route management technology with Green Drive Mobility’s electric fleet operations.
The electric buses will offer app-based ticket booking along with onboard amenities designed for long-distance travellers, while also reducing dependence on conventional diesel-powered coaches. The move is expected to contribute towards lowering emissions in India’s growing intercity transportation sector.
Commenting on the development, Harikrishna, Founder and CEO of Green Drive Mobility, said, “Deploying EV buses on the Vijayawada–Vizag corridor allows us to provide a sustainable travel option while reducing carbon emissions and enhancing passenger comfort.”
The Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam route connects two key commercial and cultural hubs in Andhra Pradesh and witnesses strong passenger traffic throughout the year. According to the companies, the deployment of electric buses is aimed at improving connectivity, travel reliability, and overall passenger experience on the corridor.

Green Drive Mobility also revealed plans to expand its electric intercity bus operations to additional routes across South India in the coming phases as demand for sustainable public transport solutions continues to grow.
