Minda Corp, Turntide Technologies join hands to strengthen India’s EV supply chain

The partnership aims to locally develop and manufacture electric vehicle powertrain solutions to serve India’s rapidly growing EV market, driven by increasing demand for sustainable mobility options.

Minda Corporation Limited and Turntide Technologies have announced a strategic joint venture, subject to regulatory approvals, to develop and manufacture advanced powertrain components for India’s expanding electric vehicle (EV) market.

Under the agreement, Minda Corporation will hold a 49 percent stake in the venture through a wholly owned special purpose vehicle, while Turntide Technologies will retain the remaining 51 percent.

The joint venture will focus on developing and producing a range of EV powertrain solutions in India, including high- and low-voltage motor controllers, high-performance electric motors, thermal application pumps, and customised controllers tailored to the requirements of the domestic EV market. The companies said the collaboration will help localise Turntide’s global technology for Indian applications.

India’s EV sector has witnessed strong growth in recent years, supported by government policy initiatives and increasing consumer demand for cleaner mobility solutions. The partnership aims to cater to original equipment manufacturers operating in the country by delivering locally manufactured components that meet performance and quality standards while improving cost competitiveness.

Minda Corporation said the venture will also support India’s broader shift toward sustainable mobility and contribute to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by strengthening the domestic EV supply chain.

A representative from Turntide noted that Minda Corporation brings decades of experience working with global OEMs, adding that the partnership will help deliver high-performance, locally tailored solutions for India’s evolving mobility ecosystem.

Founded in 1985, Minda Corporation is the flagship company of the Spark Minda Group and a major automotive component manufacturer in India, with a portfolio that includes mechatronics, information and connected systems, and plastic and interior components.
