Ultraviolette signs MoU with Karnataka Government for manufacturing expansion with PLI support

The five-year investment plan includes capacity expansion and a new production facility, supported by PLI incentives. The move strengthens Karnataka’s position as a key EV manufacturing hub while accelerating Ultraviolette’s global growth ambitions.

Ultraviolette Automotive has announced a proposed five-year investment plan to significantly expand its manufacturing footprint in Karnataka. The phased expansion will include capacity enhancement at the company’s existing facility as well as the establishment of a new production plant in the state.

The strategic move highlights Ultraviolette’s long-term commitment to Karnataka and aligns with its broader vision of accelerating India’s rapidly evolving electric mobility ecosystem.

As part of this initiative, Ultraviolette signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka on the sidelines of the Invest Karnataka Conclave held in Bengaluru.

The MoU was formalised in the presence of M. B. Patil, Honourable Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Karnataka.

The planned expansion, supported by Production Linked Incentive (PLI) benefits, is expected to boost production capacity, strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, and support the growth of India’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
