Toyota Kirloskar Motor enhances healthcare infrastructure in Uttarakhand

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has equipped three health centers in Uttarakhand’s Khatima Block with medical and non-medical equipment under its FY 2025–26 CSR health and hygiene initiative, benefiting around 3,00,000 people.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has strengthened the healthcare infrastructure in Uttarakhand by installing essential medical and non-medical equipment across three health centers in the Khatima Block of Udham Singh Nagar district. As part of its FY 2025–26 CSR initiative focused on health and hygiene, TKM has upgraded facilities at the Sub-District Hospital in Khatima and Primary Health Centres in Deori and Chakarpur, collectively benefiting nearly 3,00,000 community members.

This initiative aligns with the broader MoU between TKM and the Government of Uttarakhand, aimed at implementing holistic CSR programs from FY 2025–26 onwards. The MoU emphasizes key areas including education, health and hygiene, environmental sustainability, and community development, with an overall impact expected to reach over 3.7 lakh people across the state.

Khatima block serves a population of 3 lakh through five government health centers. It has a persistent demand for maternal and child healthcare services and centers require essential infrastructure to manage basic emergencies and maternity cases. This initiative aims to bridge this gap and provide essential equipment.

The newly installed medical and non-medical equipment are expected to:
• Enhance overall maternal and neonatal care at the health centers
• Support the safe and efficient management of over 1,500 maternity cases each year

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Through our long-term CSR vision, we remain committed to strengthening grassroots healthcare infrastructure. By contributing to critical maternal and neonatal care infrastructure in Khatima Block, we are working to ensure that every mother receives care, and every child has a stronger start to life. This step is our promise to build a better society for all.”

Sharing his appreciation, Mr. Divesh Shashni, Chief Development Officer (CDO), Udham Singh Nagar, said, “We are thankful to TKM for the initiative. It is a powerful step toward transforming maternal healthcare outcomes in our region. The upgraded facilities will improve our ability to respond to maternal care needs and ensure safer outcomes for thousands of families in the years to come.”
