TSUYO introduces Advanced EV Powertrain Tech for Electric Three-Wheeler Commercial Vehicles

TSUYO Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has introduced next-generation electric motor and powertrain solutions aimed at accelerating electrification in India’s three-wheeler commercial vehicle segment. The new portfolio includes the Gen 3.0 IPM motor architecture and India’s first AMT system for electric three-wheelers, designed to improve range, durability and operational efficiency.

TSUYO Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has unveiled a new range of next-generation electric motor and powertrain technologies designed to boost performance and efficiency in India’s electric light commercial vehicle segment. The development supports the country’s growing push toward electrification and reinforces the company’s focus on high performance, modular engineering and Make-in-India innovation.

The centrepiece of the announcement is TSUYO’s Gen 3.0 IPM motor and controller architecture. The system has been engineered for improved thermal management, higher durability and easier servicing in electric vehicle applications. Key design upgrades include external Hall sensor placement and split-phase cabling to enhance reliability and heat dissipation. An aluminium-cast controller housing improves thermal performance, while external bootloader access simplifies software updates. The platform also integrates an LED-based fault indication system for easier diagnostics and upgraded MOSFET technology suitable for premium and high-performance EV applications.

The company also introduced India’s first AMT solution for electric three-wheelers. The technology improves driving range, enhances load-carrying capability and increases gradeability, enabling lower-power motors to perform more effectively in commercial usage scenarios.

The new portfolio also includes a patented magnet-less SynRM motor, which introduces a novel rotor architecture for better performance. This reduces dependence on imported rare-earth materials, furthering the national cause of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.

The new hairpin winding technology increases motor power density, delivers up to 20% higher performance and longer motor life.

TSUYO also introduced a flat tube axle with a common gear interface, improving load capacity and simplifying parts management for L3 and Mini-L5 vehicles.

India’s electric mobility journey, especially in the three-wheeler segment, demands solutions that are engineered for reality—not mere specifications on paper. At TSUYO, this launch represents a decisive step in moving India’s EV ecosystem from assembly-led adoption to engineering-led innovation. Every product we are unveiling today has been designed to address the unique operating conditions, cost sensitivities, and performance expectations of Indian vehicles and end users,” said Vijay Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, Tsuyo Manufacturing Private Limited, on the vision behind the new portfolio.

In addition to the product unveilings, TSUYO will also host a dedicated partners’ and distributors’ meet focused on building deeper technical understanding and practical knowledge across the EV value chain. The interaction is designed to help distributors and partners better evaluate and select optimal powertrain and power source solutions, while underscoring the importance of design modularity, strong after-sales support, and the long-term advantages of a local, Make-in-India supply chain. The session will also feature perspectives from industry voices, offering participants insights into both the real and latent needs of end users, and exploring how stakeholders across the EV ecosystem can collaboratively address challenges to develop niche, scalable, and sustainable solutions for India’s evolving electric mobility landscape.
