BMW Motorrad has launched the new BMW M 1000 R supersport roadster in India. The motorcycle will be offered as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is now available for pre-order at all authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships across the country. Deliveries of the new model are scheduled to begin from May 2026.
Commenting on the launch, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said the new M 1000 R represents a strong expression of the brand’s M performance DNA, blending the capabilities of a high-performance superbike with the versatility of a dynamic roadster.
According to Brar, the motorcycle has been developed for riders who demand uncompromising performance on both the road and the racetrack. Powered by a high-revving four-cylinder engine, the M 1000 R delivers the signature performance and sound expected from BMW’s M range, offering an authentic riding experience defined by power, precision and advanced engineering.
The BMW M 1000 R is priced at Rs 33,50,000 (ex-showroom). The price includes GST and compensation cess but excludes road tax, RTO charges, local taxes, and insurance. Prices are subject to change at the time of invoicing.
Customers interested in the motorcycle can place orders through authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships across India.
The BMW M 1000 R is offered in two distinctive paint options: Light White non-metallic / M Motorsport and White Aluminium metallic matt. Customers opting for the M Competition package can also choose the Blackstorm metallic / M Motorsport colour scheme, further enhancing the motorcycle’s sporty character.
To make ownership easier, BMW India Financial Services provides flexible and convenient financing solutions for BMW Motorrad customers. These plans can be customised to suit individual needs and also extend to financing for riding gear and accessories, ensuring riders are fully equipped for their journeys.
For added peace of mind, all motorcycles from BMW Motorrad come with a standard three-year warranty with unlimited kilometres, with the option to extend coverage to the fourth and fifth year. In addition, the brand offers 24/7 Roadside Assistance throughout the year, providing prompt support in case of breakdowns or towing requirements.
The BMW M 1000 R features an aggressive, ultra-compact roadster design with M Winglets, which enhance aerodynamics and increase front-wheel load by 11 kg at 220 km/h. It also includes elements such as a dual-flow LED headlight, M Carbon wheels, optimised brake ducts and a quick-action throttle for sharper acceleration.
Powered by a 999 cc water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine, the motorcycle produces 210 hp and 113 Nm of torque, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h. Advanced technologies like BMW ShiftCam improve torque at lower speeds while maintaining high peak performance.
The bike is equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display, adaptive LED lighting, cruise control, heated grips and multiple riding modes including Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and Race Pro. Features such as Dynamic Traction Control, Launch Control, wheelie control and pit-lane limiter enhance both road and track performance.
An optional M Competition Package adds performance-focused components including M Carbon wheels, carbon fibre body parts, GPS lap trigger, adjustable rider footrests and additional M styling elements, allowing riders to further personalise the motorcycle.
