Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled the new CB300F flex-fuel motorcycle, India’s first 300cc bike designed to run on flex-fuel. Priced at Rs 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this launch marks a significant step toward greener mobility, catering to environmentally conscious riders. Bookings for the 2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel model are now open at BigWing dealerships.
Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, emphasized Honda’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, both in its products and operations. He noted that the introduction of the CB300F flex-fuel aligns with Honda’s focus on sustainable development. Drawing from over a decade of experience in flex-fuel technology, Honda has tailored this motorcycle for the Indian market, supporting the country’s transition to cleaner energy as part of the Government of India’s Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program.
Yogesh Mathur, HMSI’s Director of Sales and Marketing, pointed out that Indian consumers are increasingly looking for motorcycles that combine performance with environmental responsibility. He described the Honda CB300F flex-fuel as offering cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly features, providing riders with the flexibility of using multiple fuel options without compromising Honda’s reputation for reliability and performance.
The CB300F flex-fuel features a 293.52cc oil-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder PGM-FI engine, compatible with up to E85 fuel (a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline). It generates 18.3 kW of power and 25.9 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and includes an assist slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts and to prevent rear wheel hopping during downshifting.
In terms of handling and technology, the CB300F flex-fuel is equipped with disc brakes at the front and rear, measuring 276mm and 220mm respectively. It includes dual-channel ABS and Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) as standard features. The bike has golden-colored USD front forks and a 5-step adjustable rear mono-shock suspension to enhance rider comfort. An all-LED lighting system is also included.
The bike features a fully digital instrument panel with five levels of customizable brightness. The panel displays speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meters, gear position indicator, and a clock. It also has an Intelligent Ethanol Indicator that alerts the rider if the fuel contains more than 85% ethanol.
The introduction of the CB300F flex-fuel continues HMSI’s efforts to provide solutions that address both customer preferences and environmental concerns.
