KTM RC Range Gen-2 launched

KTM, has launched the second generation of the RC 200 and RC 125 sports bikes in India. Boasting new adjustable handlebars, an LCD dash instrument cluster and an updated windscreen, the RC range is now more practical. While the RC 200 comes equipped with an LED headlight, the RC 125 packs a halogen unit. The latter also misses out on SUPERMOTO ABS that enables a rider to switch off the ABS at the rear.

With an increased fuel tank volume from 9.5 to 13.7 litres, the RCs get a new stiffer, lighter, split-steel trellis frame. Visually, both sports bikes are helped to a new, sharper taillight design complimented by lighter wheels and disk brakes at both ends.

The RCs now get a curved radiator to dissipate heat away from the rider. The newly launched range also features a stiffer hollow front axle, integrated front position lamp with front blinkers and an aluminium-cast split pillion grabrail. The new bodywork, designed and optimised for wind and weather protection, reduces windblast away from the rider at high speeds.

Equipped with WP APEX big piston forks at the front and a new WP APEX shock absorber at the rear, the RCs are highly agile on straights and corners. KTM RC Range is powered by a state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with twin overhead camshafts, four valves, and electronic fuel injection. The new larger airbox allows the KTM RC Range to breathe easier, providing improved responsiveness and increased torque giving it an impressive off the line launch putting the KTM RC Range well and truly a head of the pack.

Available in two colours, RC 200 will be priced at INR 208,717 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is the same price as the ongoing model. The RC 125, also available in two colours, is expected to be priced at INR 181,913 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Potential customers can also avail of finance offers to aid the purchase.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sumeet Narang, President, Pro-Biking Business unit at Bajaj, said, “The KTM RCs are race-bred machines with its technology and form inspired by the MotoGP racer– KTM RC 16. The fully-faired motorcycles have a strong and growing contribution to the KTM portfolio. Also, the enthusiasts of SuperSport motorcycles in India prefer aggressive sharp looks coupled with exciting features. With a slew of upgrades, the new generation of the KTM RC 200 looks set to extend its lead in the premium performance motorcycle segment, bringing real racetrack-inspired DNA to the streets. While the KTM RC range Gen-2 will be available in global markets by 2022, the KTM RC 200 Gen-2 will be available for Indian motorcycle enthusiasts from October 2021. The KTM RC 125 Gen-2 will be available from November 2021.”
