
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has been awarded the Tamil Nadu State-Level Safety Award for its manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, recognising the company’s strong commitment to workplace safety and industrial best practices.
The award, instituted by the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), Government of Tamil Nadu, was presented by Thiru C.V. Ganesan, Hon’ble Minister for Labour Welfare & Skill Development, along with Mr. Anand, Director of Industrial Safety & Health. The honour was received on behalf of HMIL by Mr. Mukundan M.S., Vice President – Production, and Mr. Senthil Kumar R.M., Associate Vice President – Safety & Wellness.
The recognition pertains to performance during the year 2022, underscoring Hyundai Motor India’s continued focus on maintaining high standards of safety, health and well-being across its manufacturing operations.
This highlights Hyundai’s sustained commitment to safety excellence within the Large-Scale Industry (Group A) category, reflected in significant reductions in incident frequency rates and a disciplined approach to risk management and workplace safety.
Over three decades of operations in India, the Sriperumbudur plant has implemented extensive safety campaigns, rigorous monitoring systems, and continuous improvement programs—reinforcing a culture that upholds the highest standards of safety across the workplace.
