Hyundai Motor India’s ‘Brand i10’ crosses 3 million sales milestone

The brand i10 has sold over 2 million units in India and exported over 1.3 million units to 140+ countries. It is over 91% localized for both domestic and export markets. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) remains India's largest cumulative exporter of passenger vehicles, with exports making up over 20% of its total sales.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced that its ‘Brand i10’ has surpassed 3.3 million unit sales across domestic and international markets. Staying true to its vision of ‘Make in India, Made for the World,’ HMIL has sold over 2 million units in India and exported 1.3 million units to more than 140 countries. Key export destinations for the brand include South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru. Reinforcing its leadership, HMIL remains India’s largest cumulative exporter of passenger vehicles, strengthening its role as a global export hub for Hyundai Motor Company.

Currently in its 18th year, brand i10 has evolved across three generations – i10, Grand i10 and Grand i10 NIOS, and presently comes with 3 powertrain options including 1.2 L Kappa Petrol Manual, 1.2 L Kappa Petrol AMT, and 1.2 L Bi-Fuel Kappa Petrol with CNG. HMIL has sold an average of 1 Lakh+ units of i10 annually in India, owing to its immense popularity and practicality.

HMIL introduced the brand i10 in India in 2007 with several attractive features including dual airbags, ABS and keyless entry. Over the years, the brand has consistently evolved as per the expectations and aspirations of Indian customers, setting benchmarks in its segment.

In its current generation, the model has expanded its offerings, featuring a host of advanced safety and convenience technologies. It now comes equipped with numerous safety features as standard, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, 3-point seat belts and seatbelt reminders for all seats. Enhancing its modern appeal, it also offers the latest features such as a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) – Highline, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), cruise control, wireless phone charger, and a 20.25 cm (8”) touchscreen display audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 

Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS represents the ideal first car for Indian families. In FY 24-25, over 45% of Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS customers were first time car buyers. This model is the preferred family choice, as over 83% of Grand i10 NIOS customers are married. While Grand i10 NIOS is extremely popular across the country, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Haryana, stand as its top three markets.
