India’s First Global EV, the Maruti Suzuki e VITARA, Secures 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

The Maruti Suzuki e VITARA offers a comprehensive safety suite featuring Level 2 ADAS, a high-strength body structure, advanced battery protection, 7 airbags, ESP, all-wheel disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS, and a 360° camera—delivering global safety standards for India’s first global EV.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved a major safety milestone as the e VITARA, India’s first global electric vehicle, has been awarded a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. The recognition was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari.

The e VITARA was voluntarily submitted for Bharat NCAP testing, further strengthening Maruti Suzuki’s growing lineup of 5-star-rated models, which now includes the All-New Dzire, VICTORIS and INVICTO.

Engineered on Suzuki’s all-new HEARTECT-e platform, purpose-built for electric vehicles, the e VITARA delivers exceptional crash safety, high structural rigidity and advanced high-voltage protection. The EV has been rigorously tested in extreme environments—from scorching desert heat to sub-zero snowy terrains—with its battery systems validated to perform reliably from +60°C to –30°C.

Offered with both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options, the e VITARA combines strong performance, long range, superior comfort and global safety standards—setting a new benchmark for Made-in-India electric mobility.
