JSW MG Motor India has delivered 50 Hector Tomahawk electric SUVs to customers in Surat in a single day, marking a notable milestone for the recently launched model. The deliveries took place on 28 September 2026, with the automaker attributing the response to growing customer interest in the Hector Tomahawk and the wider adoption of electric mobility.
The Hector Tomahawk EV is available at an introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) price starting at ₹13.99 lakh, along with a battery rental of ₹4.90 per km for a limited number of bookings. Customers opting to purchase the vehicle with the battery can get it at an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹19.49 lakh.
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV starts at ₹21.79 lakh under the BaaS model, with a battery rental of ₹3.20 per km, while the outright ex-showroom price starts at ₹25.69 lakh.
Hector Tomahawk Prices in Surat
In Surat, the Hector Tomahawk EV is priced from ₹19.50 lakh for the Excite 7S, while the Exclusive 7S is priced at ₹22.00 lakh. The Essence 5S and Essence 7S variants are priced at ₹23.00 lakh and ₹23.50 lakh, respectively.
For the PHEV, prices start at ₹25.70 lakh for the Exclusive 7S and ₹27.80 lakh for the Essence 7S.
Hector Tomahawk EV: Battery, Range and Performance
The Hector Tomahawk EV is equipped with a 69.2 kWh MAGIC Battery paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque.
The company claims an ARAI/MIDC-certified range of 517 km on a single charge, although the actual range may vary depending on driving conditions. The electric SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW.
Hector Tomahawk PHEV Powertrain
The plug-in hybrid version combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 20.5 kWh battery. It offers more than 115 km of pure-electric range and features a 148 kW electric motor, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of around nine seconds.
JSW MG Motor India claims a combined driving range of more than 1,100 km with a full tank and fully charged battery. The PHEV offers four drive modes: Pure Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid and Engine Direct Drive.
Vehicle-to-Home Technology
The Hector Tomahawk introduces Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability, allowing the vehicle’s battery to supply power to appliances, outdoor equipment and homes.
The company also describes the PHEV as the first in its segment in India, while positioning the V2H system as a first for the Indian market.
Battery Safety and Warranty
The MAGIC Battery has undergone a range of safety and durability tests, including needle penetration without fire, 180-degree thermal shock, 55-degree short-circuit testing and cell deformation tests of up to 40%.
According to the company, the battery has completed more than 2,000 bench tests and over 490 full-vehicle validation tests. A battery management system continuously monitors battery health in real time.
The first owner of the Hector Tomahawk EV or PHEV receives a lifetime battery warranty.
Dimensions and Seating Configuration
The Hector Tomahawk measures 4,745 mm in length, 2,130 mm in width including mirrors and 1,770 mm in height, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance at the battery.
The company describes the SUV as the tallest and among the longest models in its segment. The 5-seater version offers up to 610 litres of boot space with all rows in use.
The EV is available in 5- and 7-seater configurations, while the PHEV is offered exclusively as a 7-seater.
Interior and Connected Features
Inside, the Hector Tomahawk gets a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch multi-information display. Other equipment includes a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and PM2.5 air filtration.
The SUV features i-SMART 3.0, offering more than 80 connected features, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Digital Bluetooth Key and over-the-air software updates.
The vehicle also features a GenAI-powered voice assistant capable of understanding more than 30 Hinglish commands, while a built-in karaoke application provides access to more than 8,000 tracks.
Safety and ADAS Features
Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, along with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), traction control, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child-seat anchors and all-wheel disc brakes.
The SUV also gets a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS, with features including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and traffic jam assist.
Warranty and Ownership Benefits
EV buyers receive the MG SHIELD 3-3-2 programme, comprising a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and two labour-free services.
PHEV customers receive the MG SHIELD 3-3-3 programme, which includes three labour-free services. The company also offers an Assured Buy Back Programme, extended warranty options and prepaid maintenance plans.
Colour Options
The Hector Tomahawk EV is available in six single-tone colours: Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Shadow Gold and Khaki Green. Dual-tone options include Shadow Gold + Black and Khaki Green + Black.
The PHEV is offered in Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Turquoise Green and Shadow Gold, along with dual-tone Turquoise Green + White and Celadon Blue + White options. Colour availability may vary depending on the variant.
JSW MG Motor India’s EV Presence
JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor. The company said it has sold more than 1,50,000 electric vehicles in India since introducing its first EV.
The company also said the MG Windsor continues to be India’s top-selling electric vehicle.
