JSW MG Motor India has announced a landmark achievement as the MG Windsor successfully completed a 3,757-km journey from Leh to Kanyakumari in just 83 hours and 43 minutes, setting the record for the fastest EV run across this route. The feat has been officially recognised by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records, establishing a new benchmark for long-distance electric mobility in India.
The endurance drive was executed by Mountain Goat, a team of passionate motorsports professionals, who navigated through highly varied terrain—from the rugged, high-altitude, sub-zero landscapes of Ladakh to the humid, tropical plains of southern India. Through the journey, MG Windsor demonstrated exceptional reliability, real-world range stability, and performance consistency under extreme climate and road conditions.
During the cross-country run, the Windsor completed only 20 charging stops, effectively busting myths around long-distance travel in electric vehicles. The charging locations were efficiently identified using the e-Hub by MG mobile app, which offers access to over 13,000+ EV chargers across India through integrations with 36 leading charge-point operators.
This achievement reinforces MG Motor India’s ‘EV Sahi Hai’ campaign, highlighting that electric vehicles are practical, capable, and ready for mainstream long-distance travel.

The car’s advanced 52.9 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers a certified range of up to 449 km per charge and supports fast charging, allowing efficient, well-planned stops across India’s expanding highway charging network. Recently, the MG Windsor set a new benchmark in the segment by crossing the 50,000 sales milestone in record time, the fastest ever for an EV in India.
Since its launch in September 2024, the MG Windsor has been India’s best-selling EV. It features a futuristic ‘AeroGlide’ design that transcends traditional segmentation. Inside, it offers business-class comfort with ‘Aero Lounge’ seats reclinable to 135 degrees, ensuring exceptional comfort. The large 15.6” GRANDVIEW Touch Display on the center console enhances the driving experience with intuitive control.
In May 2025, the company strengthened its portfolio by introducing the MG Windsor PRO variant, equipped with an extended battery pack. Additionally, the limited-edition anniversary special- MG Windsor Inspire, was recently launched by Shri Nitin Gadkari Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India at his residence.
