Olectra Greentech Limited has commenced Phase-I commercial operations at its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Seetharampur, Hyderabad, Telangana, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy. The company declared December 31, 2025, as the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Phase-I and informed the stock exchanges on January 1, 2026.
The Phase-I operations bring an annual per-shift production capacity of 2,500 electric buses, accounting for 50% of the plant’s planned per-shift capacity of 5,000 buses per annum. The Seetharampur facility has been developed as a dedicated electric bus manufacturing unit, underscoring Olectra Greentech’s focus on sustainable and clean mobility solutions for public transportation.
As part of standard project financing procedures, the company has formally communicated the commencement of commercial operations to the State Bank of India (SBI), which is the lender for the project.

With Phase-I now operational, the Hyderabad facility is set to significantly enhance Olectra Greentech’s manufacturing capabilities in the electric vehicle segment, particularly in electric bus production for the Indian market, supporting the growing demand for zero-emission public transport solutions.
