Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has crossed the 2 million production milestone, marking a major achievement in its 25-year journey in India. This milestone coincides with the Group’s strongest commercial momentum to date, with October 2025 emerging as its most successful month since inception, highlighting India’s strategic significance within the global network.
Over 500,000 vehicles were built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, designed and developed in India by local engineering teams. This platform powers models such as the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kodiaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, which have been central to the Group’s recent growth. Impressively, the last 500,000 vehicles were produced in just 3.5 years, reflecting robust demand for India-built, globally benchmarked products.
Strong Commercial Performance
Škoda Auto India recorded its highest-ever 10-month performance, more than doubling year-on-year to reach 61,607 units in 2025. Volkswagen India celebrated record monthly sales for the Virtus, which now commands over 40% share in 40 months within the premium sedan segment.
Premium and Luxury Brands Driving Growth
The Group’s premium and luxury marques continue to strengthen its position in India:
- Bentley India consolidated sales, marketing, and aftersales operations under SAVWIPL, opening new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
- Porsche India added over 4,400 customers over six years and expanded to 13 points of sale across the country.
- Audi India achieved multiple milestones: the RS Q8 won Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards, Audi Approved: plus posted 5% growth from January to September 2025, and the brand advanced India’s EV ecosystem with over 6,500 charging points under Phase II of its Charge My Audi initiative.
Super-Luxury Performance
SAVWIPL’s Lamborghini division continued to set benchmarks, delivering 113 cars in 2024, a 10% increase over 2023. The launch of the Temerario in India, following the Revuelto and Urus SE, completes Lamborghini’s hybrid transition under its Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, reinforcing its commitment to high-performance sustainable mobility.
This 2-million-vehicle milestone underscores SAVWIPL’s leadership in automotive innovation, local engineering excellence, and premium mobility solutions, further solidifying its footprint across India’s automotive landscape.
Piyush Arora, CEO & Managing Director, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “Every milestone we achieve in India reflects our strong belief in the country’s potential — not just as a market but as a driving force in the future of mobility. The 2-million mark is the outcome of consistent investment in people, technology and local capability. It also speaks to the exceptional trust Indian customers place in our six brands. Indian buyers are among the most informed and discerning in the world. They evaluate every strength and every limitation before choosing a Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini or Bentley, and their confidence strengthens our resolve. This achievement highlights how closely we listen to our customers and how their evolving expectations shape the products we design and build here, with the same quality, precision and trust that define the Group worldwide.”

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) has exported over 700,000 vehicles to Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, reinforcing India’s role as a key export hub under the vision “Made in India, Driven by the World.”
With state-of-the-art plants in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar—including a €600 million Pune facility—the Group combines strong local engineering with global technology to serve both domestic and international markets.
