Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been recognised as the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ for FY 2025-26 by the Mumbai Port Authority, underscoring the company’s significant contribution to India’s automotive export growth and its emergence as a global manufacturing hub.
The award was presented at the Business Conclave with Partners, celebrating SAVWIPL’s achievement of exporting more than 40,000 vehicles through Mumbai Port during FY 2025-26. The milestone highlights the company’s growing export footprint and the increasing global demand for vehicles manufactured in India.
The recognition reinforces SAVWIPL’s commitment to its ‘Make in India, for India and the World’ strategy, which continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s position as a key centre for automobile production and exports.
On behalf of SAVWIPL, the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter Award’ was received by Amit Madan, Vice President – Logistics Region India, and presented by Dr. M. Angamuthu, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority (IAS), along with Shri Adesh Titarmare, Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority (IAS), at the conclave. Mumbai Port continues to serve as a strategic gateway for SAVWIPL’s export operations, enabling efficient access to numerous markets around the world and reinforcing India’s role in the Group’s internationalisation strategy.
This honour follows SAVWIPL’s recognition as ‘Top Exporter 2023-2024’ by the Mumbai Port Authority, underlining the Group’s consistent growth as a leading exporter of vehicles engineered and manufactured in India. Over the years, SAVWIPL has progressively expanded its export footprint, shipping over 725,000 made-in-India vehicles to key markets across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and North America as part of its long-term commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision.
Commenting on the achievement, Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited, said, “Being recognised once again by the Mumbai Port Authority is a proud moment for all of us at SAVWIPL. Our manufacturing ecosystem in India has matured into a truly global export base for the Group, and we remain committed to further strengthening India’s role in our worldwide production and supply footprint.”
In addition to Fully Built Units of Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, Škoda Kushaq and Slavia, SAVWIPL is steadily broadening its export portfolio to include Parts and Components, supporting local assembly operations in select markets and further enhancing India’s role in the Group’s global industrial footprint. The Group will continue to explore new export opportunities in line with evolving customer needs, regulatory frameworks, and its own long-term growth strategy for the region, including recent entry into the Sri Lankan market.
