Nahak launches e-cycle with 100 pc Indian tech

Nahak Motors has launched electric bicycles at a starting price of Rs 27,000. Union Minister of State (MSME), Mr Pratap Chandra Sarangi, launched the company’s e-cycles “made of 100 per cent Indian technology” in Faridabad, Haryana, recently.

In a bid to overcome the challenges on supply of key components and labour skill gap, Nahak Motors has kept the entire manufacturing domestic, said a press release by the company.

It further said that Nahak e-cycles have been especially designed for the Indian terrain. The lithium battery on the e-cycle takes around two hours to get fully charged and it can run up to 25 km once fully charged. The e-cycle can be charged from even a regular power socket.

Dr. Pravat Kumar Nahak, Chairman, Nahak Group, said: “As the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak had put a brake on the auto industry across the globe. The disruption has undoubtedly given a fillip to the electric vehicle segment proving people’s empathy towards the environment. Besides the launch of the e-Cycles, our focus will stay towards environment sustenance with more products in the pipeline.”
