The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has announced the 19th edition of the Symposium of International Automotive Technology (SIAT), scheduled to take place from January 28–30, 2026, at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC). Held biennially, SIAT 2026 will revolve around the theme “Innovative Pathways for Safe and Sustainable Mobility”.

The upcoming symposium has already attracted over 2,000 research abstracts and will feature technical sessions on a wide range of topics, including electric mobility, simulation and modeling, emission control, advanced vehicle dynamics, active and passive safety systems, NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), hydrogen technologies, ADAS, alternative fuels, intelligent transport systems, regulatory developments, tire technology, and materials and manufacturing.

Alongside the symposium, the SIAT Expo 2026 will offer a dedicated platform for automotive companies to showcase their latest products, technologies, and services through interactive exhibition stalls.

The 2024 edition of the Symposium of International Automotive Technology (SIAT) drew over 2,000 delegates and featured 211 technical presentations from 10 countries. Highlights included a hydrogen pavilion, an ADAS demonstration area, and a technology showcase with 330 stalls representing nations such as India, the U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, Austria, France, and Finland. The exhibition area welcomed more than 7,000 visitors, including a dedicated pavilion for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups, featuring over 70 participants.

First held in 1985, SIAT has completed 18 successful editions and has seen participation from prominent figures like former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and industry veteran Dr. Pawan Goenka. The event receives support from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, contributing valuable insights for policy formulation.

ARAI, the organizing body, functions as a cooperative industrial research association under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. It plays a key role in R&D, testing, certification, homologation, and regulatory development—committed to enhancing vehicle safety, reducing emissions, and promoting efficiency in the automotive sector.
