The 4th Festival of Manufacturing – Udyog Utsav was held in Chennai, bringing together leaders from companies such as Ashok Leyland, Volvo Group, and BMW to discuss innovation, manufacturing growth, and India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The 4th edition of the Festival of Manufacturing, popularly known as Udyog Utsav, was successfully hosted at Feathers Hotel in Chennai, bringing together prominent leaders and stakeholders from India’s manufacturing ecosystem to celebrate innovation, talent, and the dedication that drives the sector forward.

Centered on the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047: Building the Future Through Manufacturing,” the event highlighted the crucial role the manufacturing industry plays in supporting India’s economic growth and long-term development goals. The festival provided a vibrant platform for industry experts, innovators, and policymakers to exchange ideas, share insights, and recognize excellence within the manufacturing sector.

Over the past year, the initiative has extended beyond traditional industry dialogues by engaging directly with manufacturing facilities across the country. Leading companies such as Ashok Leyland, Volvo Group, Ducati India, BMW, and Continental AG opened their facilities to showcase innovations and operational excellence—demonstrating that manufacturing is not just about production, but also about people, passion, and purpose.

The event was Co-Powered by Ace Micromatic Group, with igus India, Pro Arc Welding & Cutting Systems, Volvo, Zeiss India, Marposs, Kennametal, Timken, KSH Infra, Sairam Institutions, TERADYNE Robotics, IACC, AIEMA, and JITO Chennai supporting the initiative as partners and associates. Bennett University served as the Education Partner.

The summit featured prominent industry leaders including TK Ramesh, Managing Director, Ace Designers Limited; Kamal Bali, President & Managing Director, Volvo Group India; Dr. Kanakasabapathi Subramanian, Senior Vice President, Ashok Leyland; Ajesh Saklecha, Director, Ozone Motors; and Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India Pvt Ltd, among others.

The event hosted four panel discussions on key topics shaping the future of manufacturing, alongside a special case study presentation by Pawan Agrawal, President of KECT and Co-Chairman, Indian Academy of Entrepreneurship, who shared insights from his extensive study of the globally renowned Mumbai Dabbawala system and its lessons in operational efficiency.

The day began with a vibrant welcome by traditional Chennamalam drummers, followed by a Bharatanatyam performance by renowned artist Bhavna Neelakantan, adding a cultural dimension to the gathering.

A major highlight of the event was the ‘Champions of Manufacturing’ awards, recognizing leaders and organizations for their significant contributions to the sector, along with the ‘Promising Plants of the Future’ segment honoring emerging manufacturing facilities demonstrating innovation and excellence.

The event execution was managed on a turnkey basis by The Pittch, which oversaw the conceptualization, planning, and seamless delivery of the experience.

Sonny, from The Pittch, said, “The Festival of Manufacturing is more than an industry gathering, it is a celebration of the people, innovation, and resilience that define India’s manufacturing ecosystem. Platforms like Udyog Utsav play an important role in bringing together industry leaders and stakeholders to exchange ideas, recognize excellence, and contribute towards the larger vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.”
