A year after introducing its electric sub-brand Flying Flea and showcasing the C6, Royal Enfield has revealed its second electric motorcycle — the S6, a scrambler-styled model — at EICMA 2025.
While the retro-inspired C6 is set to launch in early 2026, the S6’s launch timeline remains under wraps. Royal Enfield has yet to disclose the technical specifications for either model, but the unveiling marks a major step in the brand’s journey toward electrification.
“Solidifying our electric future, we are expanding the Flying Flea portfolio with the FF.S6, preparing for a launch in 2026,” said B. Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield. “We aim to preserve the Royal Enfield DNA while delivering authenticity, innovation, and pure motorcycling to riders globally.”
Urban-Ready Design with Scrambler DNA
According to Matt Cardenas, Head of EV Product Strategy at Royal Enfield, the S6 has been designed for urban versatility and light off-road performance.
The bike features upside-down forks, longer suspension travel, higher ground clearance, and dual-purpose tires on aluminum spoke wheels — 19-inch front and 18-inch rear. It also comes with an enduro-style seat for rider comfort on both city roads and trails, along with an off-road ride mode featuring lean-angle-sensing ABS and traction control.
Electrifying the Classic Legacy
The Flying Flea lineup pays homage to the original 1940s military motorcycle of the same name — lightweight, agile, and built for purpose. With this new EV line, Royal Enfield aims to blend its 125-year-old legacy with modern electric innovation.
Royal Enfield has committed ₹1,500 crore to its electric vehicle program and established a dedicated EV vertical operating with start-up agility. The company has also secured land for a new EV manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, while the first production batch will roll out from its Oragadam plant.
To strengthen its global EV development, Eicher Motors—Royal Enfield’s parent company—has acquired a 10% stake in Spanish electric motorcycle maker Stark Future, with plans for joint product development.
Although the electric motorcycle market in India remains nascent compared to electric scooters, the Flying Flea brand represents a significant leap for Royal Enfield toward shaping the future of electric motorcycling.
