Volvo Construction Equipment India reinforced its commitment to the Indian market at EXCON 2025 with the debut of the Made-in-Bharat EC215 excavator, alongside a powerful lineup of locally developed and future-focused equipment.

The EC215, produced in India, is the company’s newest medium excavator engineered for the nation’s rapidly growing infrastructure space. Positioned in the 20–22-tonne segment, it builds on the success of last year’s EC210 and focuses on delivering higher productivity, durability, and improved fuel efficiency tailored for Indian working conditions.

Volvo CE’s EXCON booth showcased a diversified product range. The newly introduced SD110 Compactor targets India’s expanding road construction requirements, while the L120 Electric Wheel Loader marks Volvo CE’s entry into commercial zero-emission equipment in India—reflecting the brand’s direction toward cleaner construction technologies. The company also previewed the upcoming EC650 excavator, designed for large construction, heavy earthmoving, and mining operations.

Beyond equipment launches, Volvo CE highlighted its service and digital ecosystem, including equipment-as-a-service models, operator training initiatives, connected fleet monitoring, and productivity-boosting uptime solutions. These services aim to help customers reduce operational downtime and maximize asset utilization.

The company also shared updates on its upcoming Technology Centre in Bengaluru, which will support R&D, localization, and product engineering for domestic and global markets—a significant strategic investment underscoring India’s growing role in Volvo CE’s worldwide operations.

Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India, stated that the EC215 is a direct result of customer insights and the evolving needs of India’s infrastructure industry. He added that Volvo CE’s expanding portfolio aligns with the country’s shift toward lower-emission and high-efficiency technologies.
